Patina and surface
Copper can darken over time. Oxide layers form on the surface; under suitable atmospheric conditions, a green patina may later develop. This natural protective layer is not to be equated with verdigris. The color development depends on the environment and exposure.
For cleaning, it is crucial to determine whether the patina should be preserved or a bright surface should be restored. For visible or technically relevant surfaces, use suitable cleaning or processing methods designed for copper.

A plate with an area of 1 m² and a thickness of 1 mm weighs approximately 8,94 kg. Dimensions, tolerances and the actual material specification affect the weight.
Why does copper change color?
