How to cut aluminum profiles?

Many ask themselves how they can cut aluminum profiles. If you want a precise cut from us, we use our modern high-speed circular saws for this. This works so precisely that there are no major burrs on the cut edges.

Of course you can also bring your aluminum profiles to the right length yourself.

You should pay attention to this when sawing

Aluminum profiles have high thermal conductivity. They have a low melting point and form a fine oxide layer when they come into contact with water and air. When sawing, you should ideally use a hacksaw or a chop saw with a metal saw blade.

Make sure the saw blade has a large rake angle and the teeth are straight. Use as high a speed as possible. Don't use too much feed. A suitable coolant is also recommended for sawing the aluminum profiles. A special coolant emulsion for metal sawing is commercially available.

If you cool aluminum profiles while sawing and set a gentle feed, you can also avoid the typical caking of the aluminum profiles.
